The only solution for the Z2 will be a software over write, it is not a hardware bypass like the Z1, you need a software engineer who knows Pioneer software and overwrites their code. GOOD LUCK on that.

The only thing that I tried on the Z2 was grounding the dimmer cable (orange/white) and seems to bypass it. Navigation background would be stuck on daytime though.

No way dude that's too easy! Did you ground it during the boot process or just ground it period? If that really works then it has been overlooked by alot of ppl.Questions/Comments:Ernie@Jonspd.com

Got an e-mail from a guy yesterday about this. He says he thinks that the installer tried this because his AVIC is stuck in daytime mode, and that it does not work.Questions/Comments:Ernie@Jonspd.com

JUST GROUND IT PERIOD!VIDEO BYPASS AND ALL NAVIGATION ICONS WORK WHILE DRIVING."Grounding the orange/white shouldn't damage the head unit because its just an input"

A customer of ours purchased a "bypass diagram" on Ebay today and is sending it to us via E-Mail. I havn't seen it just yet but the diagram suggests that disconecting the antenna and vss wire (via switch or relay) will inhibit the Z2's gps capabilities and override the internal gyro - allowing video to be viewed while mobile. It sounds a little extreme, but I'll post as soon as I check it out and verify. Also, I have found through research here at the shop that putting a switch on the P. Brake and Dimmer wires - and switching in a sequence will work, but only for a day or so. Not sure why yet, but we're still working on it.

That would be great info man. As far as the sequence you were referring to, is it kinda like the Alpine bypass?Questions/Comments:Ernie@Jonspd.com

I did the first one and it works the key is not to damage the middle of the antenna wireAVIC-Z2 BypassTry which ever one you feel is best for you. These are the two that Ihavefound so far. I am still trying to find more if there are any. I wouldsuggest using the second one as it seems to me to be a better bypass. This is the first bypass that we found. We will keep trying to find abetterone, but this does work if you follow these instructions correctly.I am not offering this as a perfect solution for the bypass problem, just as a temporary fix for watching video without an image reversed message until a real bypass is figured out. So, please don't stop working on one guys!I recommend that only installers with some experience perform this work since some of it might be confusing to some. Once this work is performed, you will be able to watch video and use all of the nav control functions while moving when the switch is activated but, you will have to turn the switch back off to use the Nav because it will not be able to keep up with your location while bypassed. Once the switch is turned back off it should only take a moment for the Nav to figure out where you are.First, the parking brake wire should be grounded. You will also need the Speed Sense(VSS) to be hooked up. This wire should be connected because when turning the bypass back off it will cut the time it takes to find your location in half. You also need this wire because the gyro will still block the video if you hit a strong bump at high speeds(this only happened once and I was trying to make it happen) and that wire will be needed to reset the bypass without stopping. You will need two relays and a toggle switch. The relays can be taped together and wired to work the same way using the toggle switch to provide a ground to activate both of them. The power to activate them should be from a key power wire. The first relay will be used to separate the VSS wire. The second relay will be used to separated the ground shielding (the outer layer) inside of the cable for the nav antenna. When this is done properly, the nav will no longer know the vehicle is moving once the switch is flipped. The gyro can shut down the video if the vehicle hits a severe pothole but, this happens very rarely and all you have to do to correct this is flip the switch off and then back on. This shows the nav a speed signal for a second to fool it into thinking you have stopped again. These mods should be easy for most installers. It is very important that the center of the antenna wire not be cut or damaged! I will include some picture links to show how I did this stuff. If the end user uses video more than Nav (like me), I recommend the relays be wired as normally open. For those who use the Nav more, they should be wired as normally closed. This will prevent the relays from being constantly active. Don't forget to use key power to power the relays so that they will only work when the car is running to avoid battery problems.Again, this is only a temporary fix and not a real bypass. I hope that all of you will keep working on a true bypass. Going from my Z1 that had a real bypass to this is a real disappointment.http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/desoinc/DSC00025-1.jpghttp://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/desoinc/DSC00028.jpghttp://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/desoinc/DSC00029.jpghttp://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/desoinc/DSC00031.jpghttp://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/desoinc/DSC00032.jpgHere is the second bypass. The only mod I have is a toggle switch on the e-brake.1) Power the vehicle and unit with e-brake on and the vehicle in park.2) hit the reset button on the lower left screen panel with a pen.3) Let the unit reboot.4) I have my unit to output to a rear monitor - I turn on the monitorandsee the front screen.5) Start a DVD and let it play for a few minutes while still in parkande-brake on.6) Power o
