Avic-D3 DVD Video Bypass Mod

From the desk of Martin @ www.LesscoElectronics.com the webs best site for mobile electronics mobile video and alarms / remote starter systems.

Enjoy!

Avic D3 bypass
Anyone with a D3 get the bypass set up correctly. I followed all teh instructions from the avic311.com forums. I asked questions there but didn't get much of a quality response. So far i have the parking brake wire grounded to the aftermarket harness's ground wire, along with the other ground wires. I also have grouned the yellow mute wire at the factory harness ground wire. I have tested it a few times and after a few minutes and over 5 miles an hour, i get the screen that says i have to have the parking brake on. Anyone with any experience in this have any advice.WHen i go to the settings menu on the screen, it says i have the parking brake on. is that suppose to be like that when the bypass is done correctly? Thanks again, and any information would be great!!Ryan

Ryan,You also have to move the yellow/black mute wire pin to a different slot in the connector. Did you do this step? Here's the link.http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtop...t=4670&start=0Mike

so i got it all installed, bypass was working. then it went out. any suggestions please? Before i put the car all back together, i tested it, drove around about 10 minutes, worked great. I then decided to put the dash together and stick the radio in. Everything worked including the bypass, for about 10 minutes. Then it came up with a screen that saying the parking brake is not hooked up properly and i lost use of my navigation while moving. Does anyone have any experience with bypassing the D3 who could assist me? If your close to Toledo, Ohio come on over and i'll pay you to do it right hahaThanksRyan

If yours is like mine was, Those wires are in there tight. sounds like you are loosing your ground to me,, with all the wires pushed in there tight might be putting pressure on the harness or something and somehow loosing the ground...I used my soilder gun and made sure all the wires were bonded good and found a good ground to the car. Works fine,,tells me my parking brake is on all the time,, goodluck

I just took all the ground wires and I think a ran them to the one big with the radio. I then ran the ground wire towards the steering wheel and grounded it to one of those big bolts,,,works fine. Oh I did have a problem after installing the vcc wire,,or the speed sensor wire,,stero was picking up the signal,,but lost my speedometer on the car!! checked the connections a million times and finally to fix it all i did was disconnect that wire from the harness and plugged it back in and all is well now.....
